Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has urged winners of the recently concluded APC Senate and House of Representatives primaries in the state to remain committed to unity, discipline and nation building ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bago made this call when he received the victorious aspirants on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Minna.

He congratulated them on their emergence and charged them to stay focused on strengthening the ruling party while prioritising the development of Niger State and its people.

The governor stressed the need for unity among the lawmakers-elect, warning that they must not betray the confidence reposed in them by party members and constituents.

“We must remain one family. Do not disappoint the people who have entrusted you with this responsibility,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers-elect, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa commended Bago for what he described as a peaceful and well-managed primary process, calling it a reflection of strong leadership and party cohesion.

He assured the governor of their continued support and commitment to strengthening the APC and advancing development across the state.

Also speaking, Minister of State for Agriculture, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, praised Bago’s democratic leadership style, describing the primaries as a model for internal party democracy.
