Troops of the Nigerian military attached to the 196 Amphibious Battalion have arrested a suspected female collaborator of ISWAP terrorists in Baga town, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The arrest was disclosed by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his X handle on Thursday.

According to security sources quoted by Makama, the suspect was apprehended at about 8 am on May 20 during a routine security check by troops at the C Company location in the Lawanti area of Baga.

Items reportedly recovered from the woman included four packs of ready-to-use supplementary food, two hijabs, and a wristwatch.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was allegedly transporting the items to her son, who is believed to be a member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) operating within the Dumba general area.

Military sources said the woman was subsequently taken into custody for further investigation and other necessary actions.
