Insecurity: Tinubu seeking who to blame – Kalu Aja

Financial advisor and educator, Kalu Aja, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his comments linking Nigeria’s worsening insecurity to beneficiaries of the fuel subsidy and foreign exchange regimes.

Tinubu, speaking through Olusegun Osoba at the launch of the book, The NADECO Story, in Lagos on Wednesday, said individuals who benefited from the corruption-ridden fuel subsidy and foreign exchange systems were behind the rising insecurity across the country.

Reacting via X on Thursday, Aja said the President was searching for who to blame instead of addressing the real causes of insecurity.

Aja questioned the connection between insecurity and fuel subsidy or foreign exchange issues, citing recent attacks in parts of northern Nigeria.

He further warned that failure to properly identify the root causes of insecurity could worsen the situation.

Aja wrote: “Mr. President is seeking who to blame.

“The US just bombed ISIS in the NE (North-Eest). Was ISIS importing PMS? The folks invading villages to slaughter citizens in farms and homesteads are they seeking green back or green grass?

“If one does not know the problem, one can’t fix the problem. Now I am really quite worried.”
